Mirabai Kukathas is a Seattle-based folk singer & songwriter, known for her frequent collaborations with friends Drannamo & Maceo Sky. Growing up, Mirabai primarily listened to 60s folk revival; Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell are two of her favorite artists & influences from the period. Mirabai’s music focuses on the absurd, incorporating a sense of humor into otherwise honest and emotionally candid narratives. “I write about the weird moments–the weird disconnect between what you think and what you feel and how absurd the world is. I like to make something weird or absurd or abstract to lock that [moment] down.”
